Psychological Testing and Evaluations

Psychological testing requires specialized training and experience. It is both a science and art requiring the clinician to integrate many sources of information (clinical interviews, test data, and collateral consultation with teachers, family members, and providers) to answer specific diagnostic questions. What can a Psychological Evaluation assist with?

• Clarify psychiatric or developmental diagnoses (e.g. ADHD, Mood Disorder, Schizophrenia)
• Determine intellectual strengths or weaknesses
• Identify academic strengths or weaknesses
• Rule out or confirm a learning disorder
• Provide a thorough understanding of one's psychological and personality functioning
• Make treatment recommendations that are grounded in a comprehensive understanding of the client
• Screen for serious neurological concerns requiring additional assessment
• Understand career or vocational strengths and interests
